Happy Day After Stuffing Yourself Day!

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving!  You know every year I always anticipate folks asking me what I am doing for Turkey Day.  I have come to terms that the reason I hope for this question is secretly I want them to invite me over to their BIG Thanksgiving dinners.  A full house of chaos and a steroid loaded turkey always seems so wonderful since my family is spread throughout the country and now even meandering into the Canadian frontier.

Not this year!  I was SO blessed to have both my sis and mom come visit me for Thanksgiving.  (I missed ya daddy but I know you had work to do)  It was not only my sweet little family of four but my two longest girl friends!  I was a little bummed that Whit had to go home the day before Thanksgiving but still remained thankful that we could be together to decorate the house for Christmas...yes, I did it early this year because she hasn't decorated in SO long!  I need to get some pictures of our trees...she did a gorgeous plum, black and silver tree, I did a peacock themed tree for the living room, and I also had decorated a shabby chic tree for the girls in their guest room as a surprise to get them in the holiday mood.  I wasn't trying to pass over Thanksgiving but it was something that we could do together that we haven't done in a VERY long time...which in turn made me extremely grateful.

Because we were together again I asked if Dave could take our picture...we haven't had any professional pictures taken since we were like 12.  So, we put on our funky scarves, braced ourselves for the chilled wind and pretty much laughed the whole time.  Dave got one really great shot of us and I just think it's so neat to see how much my sister and I have grown.  If you could see the last picture of us three, you would see the still spiral curly headed mamma with her two girls that she made get a gypsy layer cut.  Maybe you don't want to see it...my hair cut growing up was hideous complete with the "an animal laid down and died on top of my head" look.....in my opinion...but my mamma loved it.

Now, my sis and I are both married and choosing our own hairstyles but we will always have our memories of Thanksgivings past.  These make me thankful because I have the greatest blessing...a family who loves me...

Michelle

My dear friend Michelle asked me to do a session for her because she was in need of a new portrait for her business...she is a realtor in town and one of my longest Great Fallsanite friends:) When I say it was freezing...it was 32 degrees.  She was so awesome and stuck it out with me, both of us fighting red cheeks with frequent visits to the car to warm up.  I think she is so beautiful inside and out.  She has done so much for me as a friend and it was an honor to capture the sweet person she is with my camera.

Love you Michelle!  I hope you love your pictures as much as I do...you're beautiful!!!

Kid Sister: part 1

Do you remember this image?

IMG_1174_p©

Well, we had a fun visit from Dave's sister and being that they haven't seen each other in practically forever I offered to do a little bro&sis session with them.  Like I said in my earlier post, these two instigated so many crazy things when they were kids.  I won't even go into the sandwich that they made poor middle sister eat.  GROSS!!!

They are SO funny together and it was so much fun for me to see them hang out again.

I told Dave that I was sending his pictures into American Eagle because I think he could easily model...I'm putting this in two segments because I want to go crazy with posting them...can you blame me??  I married a hottie!

The second post of these have some rock star images of both of them...check back later for those...Happy Wednesday!!!

Dusty & Kim: engagement

It's a good thing Kim likes to talk because that's what we did the whole hour and a half trip to the ranch...and I enjoyed every minute of it :)  Nestled in the middle of the mountains is a little rancher community where men with tight jeans, boots and big hats tip their hats as you drive by.  This is where Dusty's family way back when homesteaded.  Now, it will become the venue for which Dusty and Kim will proclaim their vows.  How romantic huh?  So, in my previous post I talked about the weather.  Even though little snow spurts came and went, nothing could keep these two from smiling...ESPECIALLY when Dusty told Kim some good news...I'm not sure I'm aloud to say right yet...but it's good :)

So, here's a few of the session....oh yea!  I finally upgraded to pro so now I can have all the huge pictures I want..."Holla"

Friday...

...seems like Monday for me because it's the day that I go into work for a few hours at the pharmacy.  Weird huh?  My clockwork is all messed up for some reason.  Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to a ranch!  What a beautiful area!  The weather was fickle...it would snow and then stop, then snow, then stop, then it finally just kept snowing.  These two stuck it out for me though...more to come soon from this session!

Munchkin

OK, I am ready to not have my mug on the top anymore...so it's time for something else...way past due.  My husband's sister gave us a quick visit and while she was here I offered to do a session with her and her bro.  These two instigated EVERYTHING as kids and Audrey, was left helpless in the middle.  When I first met Heather, she was only 13 and I called her my Munchkin...well, now she is old enough to be on her own at 21 years of age...Where does the time go?!?!?  We had a fun visit and it was so nice to see these two together again.  Needless to say, my guest room was still in a sham so she opted to sleep on the couch...Sorry Munchkin...I am so thrilled though that one can see the floor now in my guest room and it looks SO much better.  I have been on a motivation roll!  This is the reason for my lack of posting.  Dave and I joke around and say that we are finally moving in to our house.  You see, when we moved, we only had about a week and we moved with little to no help in between working full time that week.  It was a MESS.  So, now we are getting to go through boxes and finding homes for things...mostly that home is the trash can :)

So here is a teaser from their mini session...more fun stuff to come ahead...they are such a crack up together!!

Keepin' it real

When one is wed to a photographer... there will be times that the photographer wants a mug shot of themselves.  In which they will usually bribe their innocent other to take their shiny camera and take said photographer's portrait.  Caution:  This could be very frustrating for the spouse behind the camera as the photographer barks orders on how they want the shot to be taken and mumbles to themselves that they wish they had a clone.  C'mon guys...I'm just being real here.  Has anyone else done this to their poor spouse but me?  If not, may I be hung from my toenails and flogged with a very wet diaper.

I really wanted a new portrait of myself to put on the website.  He didn't do to bad at all...but I feel bad for him because I'm not the most patient person.  Anyhoo, here's one that I really like...it looks fun in color, but I just LOVE the black and white too :)

Parrish Family

I met this family through one of my close friends.  She is actually the creator of these amazing hats.  I am so excited for Wendy's business.  I think she is going to be really busy in no time...So, because I LOVED the hat on my little client so much I started thinking how awesome it would be to get some for my baby shoots.  Can't you imagine a cute little baby with nothing but these adorable hats on? I called Wendy and offered to do a trade and she was really excited.

She had two boys that were so pumped that I was taking them to a special spot.  You know how much little boys love cars...especially fire trucks!  So we had a great time hanging out and even got to see some goats and horses in the end.  Wendy was pretty impressed with my goat impression too ;)

So here are some sneak peaks for ya'll to enjoy...thanks *P* family for such a fun time!
